Insurance Claim Inspection
WHEN YOUR OWN BUILDING FINDINGS MATTER
Don’t Make the Next Claim Decision Without Seeing the Full Picture
An insurance claim inspection becomes especially valuable when the damage is significant, the insurer has already assessed the property, or the proposed repair scope does not seem to reflect everything you can see.
We inspect the agreed affected areas and document the visible building damage clearly, giving you your own findings before you decide whether to accept the assessment, seek further investigation or raise additional concerns with your insurer.
Where a particular building defect is central to the claim, we can keep the inspection focused on the condition that needs to be properly documented.
INSPECT THE AREAS CONNECTED TO THE CLAIM
Document More Than the Most Obvious Damage
The first visible sign of damage may not tell you everything your claim decision needs to account for. We scope the inspection around the areas connected to the event, so the report can document what is actually visible across the affected parts of the property.
Depending on the claim and safe access, this may include:
- Roofing and roof spaces
- Ceilings and internal walls
- Floors and adjoining finishes
- External walls and building elements
- Subfloor areas
- Other accessible areas linked to the reported damage
WHEN THE ASSESSMENT DOESN’T MATCH WHAT YOU’RE SEEING
Get Your Own Building Findings Before You Accept the Outcome
If the insurer’s assessment, repair scope or explanation does not seem to reflect the damage you can see, an independent inspection gives you another set of building findings to work from.
We assess the agreed affected areas and document what is visible on site, giving you clearer evidence to refer to before you accept the proposed outcome, raise further questions, or seek additional specialist input.
A Report You Can Actually Use in the Claim
Photographs of Affected Areas
Clear visual evidence of the visible damage found within the agreed inspection scope.
Damage Locations Documented
Findings are tied to the areas where the damage was observed, so you can see exactly what each point relates to.
Clear Building Findings
Straightforward reporting on what was visible at the property without burying the important details.
Relevant Cause Observations
Where reasonably assessable, we record building observations that may help explain what appears to have contributed to the damage.
Further Investigation Flagged
If an issue needs specialist assessment or closer investigation, we identify that so you know where to go next.
Recommended Next Steps
The report gives you clearer direction before further discussions with your insurer, assessor, repairer or another specialist.
BUILDING EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE FINDINGS
When the Claim Matters, the Inspection Needs More Than a Checklist
Insurance-related damage can affect more than the most obvious surface. With more than two decades of building experience, our team assesses the visible damage in the context of how the building is put together, helping keep the findings relevant to the claim rather than reducing the inspection to a simple list of observations.
That building knowledge helps us identify what deserves closer attention and where further investigation may be warranted before you make your next decision.

BEFORE REPAIRS CHANGE WHAT CAN BE SEEN
Get the Damage Documented While It’s Still Visible
Once repair work starts, some of the conditions connected to the claim may no longer be as easy to inspect or photograph. If you want your own building findings, arranging the inspection before damaged areas are repaired, covered or removed can give you a clearer record of what was visible at the time.
That gives you something concrete to refer back to if questions arise later about the extent of the damage, what was originally observed or why further work may be needed.
FAQs
Can you inspect the property if make-safe work or demolition has already started?
Yes. We can inspect the areas that remain accessible and document the visible condition at the time of the inspection. If opening up walls, ceilings or other areas has exposed additional damage, those accessible areas can be considered within the agreed scope.
Can I send you the insurer’s assessment or scope of works?
Yes. If you already have an assessor’s report, repair scope, photographs or other relevant claim documents, send them through when you enquire. They can help us understand the areas of concern and scope the inspection around what needs closer attention.
What if more damage is found once walls, ceilings or flooring are opened?
We can only report on conditions that are visible and accessible at the time of inspection. If further damage is exposed later, an additional inspection may be appropriate so those newly accessible areas can also be documented.
Can you inspect the property if the insurer says the damage is maintenance or pre-existing?
Yes. We can independently inspect the agreed affected areas and document the visible building condition, including relevant observations about apparent cause where that can reasonably be assessed. The insurer still determines whether the damage is covered under your policy.
Can one inspection cover several areas damaged by the same event?
Yes. Where several areas of the property are connected to the same reported event, they can be included within the agreed inspection scope. Let us know what has been affected when you enquire so we can determine what needs to be inspected.
How much does an insurance claim inspection cost?
The cost depends on the property, the number of affected areas, the extent of the inspection required and the reporting scope. Send us the basic claim details and areas of concern and we can confirm the appropriate inspection scope and quote.
Get Your Own Building Findings Before the Claim Moves Forward
If you need clearer evidence of the damage before accepting an assessment, approving repairs or deciding what to raise with your insurer, we can inspect the affected areas and prepare a report focused on what is visible at the property.
